Rick Da Don hails from Detroit, Michigan. His love for music began when he was only seven years old. Growing up, Rick continuously freestyled under his breath, so much so that his mother thought he had a problem talking to himself. During these freestyling sessions, Rick taught himself to put words together creatively and incorporate those words to a beat. This skill has allowed him to craft a sound that is uniquely his own.

Rick Da Don is not your average rapper. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art, a Master’s Degree in Leadership, and even completed three years of Doctoral school. In essence, Rick is a scholar turned street-hoodlum turned scholar again.

Yes, Rick Da Don sold crack. Yes, Rick Da Don busted guns. Yes, Rick Da Don got high. Even so, Rick desires to be remembered as a role model and a standup guy. He has evolved into much more than a gangster or rhyme-spitter.

Since taking music seriously, Rick Da Don has released several mixtapes and albums. In the beginning, Rick sold his music on foot, sometimes walking several miles to find paying consumers. Now established in the business world, Rick has bigger dreams and ambitions. He aims to change the world for good and create a way for rappers to receive fair compensation for their art.

To date, Rick Da Don has released three solo albums and one joint album. Those albums include Immunity (2011), All State Press ft. Binks (2012), The Rick Da Don LP (2014), and The Last Laugh (2017). His fourth solo studio album, entitled Limits 2 Mercy, is set to come out on January 7, 2022. Rick intends to release even more music following this album.

If you are here, you are likely someone who values substance over flash. You are someone who is not spiritually filled with talk of money, hoes, and clothes. You are likely someone of intelligence who misses the golden eras of hip-hop. Well, look no further, for you are in the right place. God Bless you and thank you for your support.
